Questions we hear most
Plain answers before you book.
01What happens at my first visit?
You talk through your history and what you want from care. The doctor then examines how you move, explains what was found and goes through your options and their risks. Plan on 45 to 60 minutes. Care starts only if you agree.
02Is chiropractic care safe?
Some people feel soreness or stiffness for a day or two after an adjustment. More serious problems have been reported after neck adjustment, including a tear in a neck artery that can lead to a stroke. Research has not shown how often this happens, or whether the adjustment is the cause. Your doctor will explain the risks before any neck adjustment, and you can say no. If you have a sudden severe headache or neck pain, new weakness or numbness, chest pain or loss of bladder or bowel control, call 911 or see a physician before you book.
03Will the adjustment hurt?
Many people feel pressure, and some feel sore afterward, a little like after a new workout. Your doctor changes the technique to suit you, and stops whenever you ask.
04How many visits will I need?
Your doctor can't know before the exam. After it you get a plan that says how often you come and for how long, and the plan is reviewed as you go.
05Do you take my insurance?
We bill many PPO plans and some employer plans. Plans differ in what they pay for chiropractic visits, so our front desk checks yours before your first visit and tells you what they find. The page on how fees work has more.
06What if I do not use insurance?
You pay at the visit, and your doctor tells you what each part costs before it happens. You have the right to a Good Faith Estimate in writing before your first visit. After each visit we can give you an itemized receipt to send to a plan that reimburses you.
07Do I need x-rays?
Not always. X-rays only when medically necessary, and your doctor explains why before taking any. If you already have recent scans or reports, bring them.
08Can I bring my child, or come while pregnant?
Children are seen only with a parent or guardian present, and your doctor explains what is involved before any care. If you are pregnant, tell us when you book. Spinal decompression is not used in pregnancy, and your doctor will talk through other options with you. We make no claims about what chiropractic care does for a pregnancy or a child's health.
09What if I have already seen another provider?
Tell us. Bring any reports or scans you have, and tell your doctor what has been done so far. With your consent we can share our findings with your other provider.
10What is your cancellation policy?
Please call as early as you can to cancel or change a visit. Ask the front desk about our cancellation policy when you book.
Still have a question?
Tell us how and when to reach you. The front desk will call to find a time.
